Our Story

Good coffee, shipped to bloom.

We roast in small batches and ship while the coffee still has something to say. Because mediocre mornings are not worth it.

Most coffee arrives past its prime.

Here is the thing no one talks about. By the time a bag of coffee hits the shelf at the grocery store, it has been roasted, bagged, boxed, trucked to a distribution center, trucked again to the store, and stocked sometime in the last few weeks. By the time you open it, six to eight weeks is typical. Most of the aromatics are gone. Most of what makes fresh coffee fresh has already escaped.

We started Good Grounds because we were tired of that. We wanted a bag of coffee we would actually want to drink, shipped in a window where it still has something to say. A cup that smells like something when you open it. A bloom that rises when hot water hits.

We believe the best cup of coffee is not the rarest bean or the most technical brew. It is a bag roasted this week, opened this morning, and poured without overthinking it.

Small batch, no shortcuts.

Every coffee we offer is roasted in small runs. Not because small batch sounds nice on a website, but because it is the only way to keep supply fresh. A small batch moves through the building in days, not weeks. When you order, your coffee ships before the CO₂ has finished venting.

We use a production roaster that lets us stop on a dime and chase the flavor profile we want. Medium light for Tarrazú brightness. Medium dark for Kintamani body. Dark for espresso crema. Every batch is cupped before it is offered. If it does not taste the way it should, it does not go out.

Seven coffees. One standard.

We do not offer thirty roasts. We offer seven. Three single origins from farms we can name. Two flavored roasts made with real flavoring over real coffee. A six-bean espresso blend built to hold up through milk. And a decaf processed with water instead of chemicals.

Every bag is 12 ounces. Every bag is whole-bean-friendly with three ground options calibrated to their brewing methods. Every bag tells you the origin, the roast level, and what to taste. Then we get out of the way.

What we stand for

Four commitments we keep, even when it costs us something.

01

Fresh over famous

We would rather ship a familiar roast at peak freshness than a rare one that has been sitting for a month.

02

Clear over clever

Our labels tell you what the coffee is, where it came from, and what to taste. No marketing speak.

03

Quality over scale

Growing the catalog is not the goal. Every roast has to earn its place before we add it to the lineup.

04

Honest over hype

We do not claim awards we have not won or sources we cannot verify. The cup does the talking.

Taste the difference

Try one bag.
You will know.

We built Good Grounds for people who have decided mediocre mornings are not worth it. If that sounds like you, pick a roast.
